Ricky entered into the European heat of the contest and was up against 64 other tributes, some of whom had been performing as Elvis for many years. To Ricky’s surprise he came away with the title of Best 1950’s Elvis in Europe and was delighted to say the least.

It was after his performace in the contest that Ricky was approached by BBC Television inviting him along to take part in their show “The Worlds Greatest Elvis” presented by Vernon Kay. The show pitted Ricky up against 30 of the best Elvis tributes from around the world. The title of Worlds Greatest Elvis eventually went to American, Shawn Klush. Ricky was thrilled to have been given the chance to appear on the show and say’s the best thing about it was all the friends he made whilst filming.

2008 see’s Ricky continuing with his Rock’n'Roll stage act, whilst also officially becoming an ETA (Elvis tribute Artist). In January he entered into the “Walk a golden mile in my shoes” contest which is recognised as Europe’s 1 Elvis contest, held annually in Blackpool, England. Like the year before, Ricky was again successful, coming away as the Gospel contest winner after his performance of “You’ll never walk alone”

Ricky then went on to a mini tour of the uk with two fellow ETA’s, Paul Molloy and Steve Storm, with a theatre show called “Elvis…How it was” The show was recieved well but they never did more than a handfull of shows

2009 started with a bang, with Ricky once again entering into the “Walk a golden mile in my shoes” contest. He was fortunate enough to win 3rd place, ranking him as one of the best ETA’s in Europe.

Along with 3 other ETA’s, Mike Nova, Paul Molloy and Chris Connor, Ricky begins work on a new Elvis tribute show called ELVIS…THROUGH THE DECADES. The show pays tribute to each era in the career of Elvis Presley, 50’s (Aron) Movies (Nova) 68 Comeback (Molloy) and the Vegas years (Connor)
