Steve Charles by Big Entertainments
Steve Charles hails from Liverpool and joined his first band at the tender age of 15. As a youngster Steve Charles had a passion for the drums and it was as a drummer that he began his career. This was what was to become an exciting time and the foundation for Steve's full time musical career. In a very short space of time Steve Charles began to work and perform in pubs and clubs all over the United Kingdom and throughout Europe. He recalls that life on the open road was not always glamorous although in 1986, he was part of a 7 piece soul band that went by the name of "Soulatraxion". The band auditioned for a ITV television show called "New Faces" and Steve believes this gave him a taste of the glamour and success the music industry could provide.
Even though Steve Charles started his career as a drummer, a close friend convinced Steve to leave the safety of his drums behind and grab the centre of attention and take to the mike. A number of people had always commented on Steve's singing ability and because of this he decided to try his hand to being the lead role. Within a short few months Steve Charles found himself thrown into the limelight with solo work and then he featured on both local radio and television. Steve was given a unique opportunity by BBC radio Merseyside's Billy Bunter who asked Steve to appear on his popular radio show and then also on his cable TV show. This opportunity to appear regularly and in front of thousands led to regular appearances on variety shows at venues all across Merseyside. Steve Charles has also featured for several major charities including "The Roy Castle Foundation and "The Variety Club of Great Britain" and has even appeared at these events which such celebrities as "Sir Cliff Richard".
