The Blue Meanies are quite simply one of the best Beatles Tributes in the UK today. Whilst possessing an unbelievably natural image, the voices and music that these boys create will have any true Beatles fan thinking they have stepped back in time!

As the ultimate Beatles experience, they have so many levels to on which to perform, as songs range from ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’ to ‘Glass Onion’ to ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’. The ability to play any type of Beatles song combined with amazing matched voices within the group is what makes The Blue Meanies one of the greatest acts in the industry.

The Blue Meanies formed in 1997, and have achieved a massive following over the years. The band has gone from playing small pubs, all the way to performing in the same bill as Sir Paul McCartney at the Liverpool Empire in 2002. Now playing major Beatles Festivals across Europe, (Russia, Belgium, Spain and Holland) the band have taken their Beatles repertoire to new heights; with a great mixture of hits, album songs and B sides the lads have a perfect Beatles set for everyone.

More recently The Blue Meanies played to 10,000 people at the Beatles Forever Festival in Russia. They were actually chased back to their hotel rooms for autographs, just like scenes from the film A Hard Day’s Night! With some more big gigs on the horizon, they look forward to making a return to the Matthew Street Festival.

The most important thing about The Blue Meanies is that people often comment on how natural they are, and also the fact that they are not a typical Beatles Tribute band. The songs are performed the way they were intended and if you listen to their demos, there is a very uncanny likeness to the real thing. Voted the best Beatles band in the world in a Russian poll in 2007, these Liverpool Lads are not to be missed.
